Repost of this: Missing files in mount but present on remote

Been running 1.53.3 for a few weeks and the issue is still present that I described in the initial post. Files that are deleted and replaced with new files aren't always being recognized by the mount and still show as deleted.
It's really made rclone unreliable for me and I'm sad because it's been so rock solid for so long.
What can I do to help? I don't want to be stuck on 1.52 forever.

This fix was not included in any stable release yet so you will have to try the latest beta instead. If you experience the issue with even that, then please post the debug logs for a mount with that version showing the behaviour.

This looks correct in terms of the invalidations with the appropriate virtual deletions and their removal once the updated listing is fetched from Google followed by what I can assume is the change notification for the addition. I can't think of anything that should be causing this issue then.

Can you make a way for me to reproduce this please @Stokkes ? As in a sequence of steps I can perform to reproduce the problem, preferably using nothing but OS supplied tools.
This is because you are running under systemd - those logs are designed to be viewed with journalctl - how are you viewing them? Are you using --log-file? Maybe we should turn off the systemd logs in that case.

I'll try building a bash script to delete / upload a new file in a loop to try to recreate the issue.
It's very very intermittent and doesn't always happen. So hopefully the script can recreate it.
I'll let you know in a few days.
As for the logs yes it's being run under systemd but also using --log-file

OK I think that is a bug!
I've merged a fix for that to master now which means it will be in the latest beta in 15-30 mins and released in v1.54
