About RcloneView

RcloneView is strictly a GUI front-end for Rclone, designed to make Rclone more accessible and user-friendly. It communicates with Rclone exclusively using the official Rclone API and does not access remote storage directly. All interactions with remote storage are handled through Rclone itself, ensuring full compatibility and adherence to Rclone’s functionality and security standards.

Ad-Supported Development Model

To ensure the sustainability of RcloneView’s development, we have adopted an ad-supported model. This allows us to keep RcloneView free for all users while supporting ongoing updates and maintenance.

For users who prefer an ad-free experience, we offer a PLUS subscription. This subscription removes ads and provides access to exclusive features.

We’ve implemented ads carefully to avoid disrupting your workflow, and we welcome feedback to improve this approach.

We encourage you to try out RcloneView v0.2 and share your thoughts here. Your feedback is essential for our continued development and improvement.

You can find more information and download RcloneView from our homepage.

Thank you for your time and support!

Sincerely,
The RcloneView Team

hey, on linux the appimage does not seem to launch at all on Ubuntu 24.04. any ideas?

Your tool will be exposed to quite a bit of potentially personal data, regardless of users using crypt remotes, etc.

There is already the question of trust when using the tool but now that you are in an ad-supported model, what additional steps and/or bona-fides are you providing to alleviate privacy concerns. Furthermore, if there is any kind of telemetry data is also fed to advertisers, you incur increased risk.

I am very likely not your targeted customer* and I have no idea to what degree, if any, my concerns are felt by the greater community. But I wanted to raise them anyway.

*: Reddit's advertising algorithm disagrees as I've been seeing your ads a lot. But I get the reason for the assumption.

It's a very slick package with many nice features that would be perfect for managing rclone remotes. I would be happy to upgrade to the ad-free version at a cost of less than $20 per year but unfortunately support is non-existent. There is a forum with half a dozen posts but the question I ask 3 days ago regarding support of FUSE-T rather than macFUSE still remains unanswered.

Rclone View sits on top of rclone so that is more a rclone question. The GUI isn't fixing that or making changes.

I think that it is a problem with the so called Mount Manager in RcloneView. When I try & use it I get the error that macFUSE is not installed. I am not using macFUSE but instead the preferred option of FUSE-T & sshfs.

It looks like RcloneView is a one man band who has developed a nice looking package but neglected support as it's not their day job.

yeah, did you notice that in the first topic, the support is just a gmail account?
