Rclone has been banned from Amazon Drive

Hi jsan. After cancelling your account did you instantly lose your files? or do you have a 180 days period to download them?

I was given 90 days where my account was in download only mode.

really? great! and you could use third party app to download the files?

May be this help: alternative storage

My rclone speed is ~800 mbit/s upload and 600 mbit/s download from cloud.
Price = 3,5$ per 1 TB, without any charge.

Details:

  • 10gb = 1$ /month or 10$/year
    +100gb = 2$ /mo or 20$/y
    +1 TB = 10$/mo or 100$/y

BUT if you register here (with google translate) - https://disk.yandex.ru/
your price is 3.5$ per 1 TB

See my answer here - Rclone has been banned from Amazon Drive

As long as that 3rd party app wasn’t rclone. sigh

if you see here you can see that you pay around 35$ per TB (2000 руб)
https://disk.yandex.ru/pay/tariffs/

Did you read entire message?
per month - “your price is 3.5$ per 1 TB”

“that you pay around 35$ per TB”
yes, but PER YEAR. It’s a good price

https://disk.yandex.com/pay/tariffs/ 100$ per year i see

Try this one with Chrome for live translation : https://disk.yandex.ru/pay/tariffs/

2000 roubles ==> 35$

Hey Kan, How do you proceed for the payment without a Russian credit card ?

You can may be use : https://revolut.com/

It’s unfortunate, but I just cancelled my ACD account as well. Purchased in Dec last year, Got a full refund. Cant really complain. It’s a convenience issue really. Moved over to Legit 5x User GSuite anyway. Problem solved.

for sure you didnt get the refund automatically ?

I have developed an oauth proxy server and with some credentials from a generous rclone user, there is now a way to use rclone with Amazon cloud drive (see the link).

This probaby isn’t a long term solution, so I suggest you use it to get your data off ACD.

ok, dude… that sounds like a last rescue call cause it sounds not very reliable
for me it is weeks to late. most users should get their stuff elsewere.
but thanks for that solution, maybe some users didnt notice that their data isnt available for weeks

if that works. be sure it will be banned soon…take all your data and move it NOW

Thanks for all the work and the workaround!

Should users worry that rclone may be banned by other services? Namely those which identify rclone by usage of a secret: https://github.com/ncw/rclone/search?utf8=✓&q=rcloneEncryptedClientSecret&type=

Confirmed, Amazon writes:

I understand that you’d like to know how to access Amazon Drive as the access for Rclone to access Amazon Drive has been disabled.

Steve, we will not be re-enabling access to Amazon Drive from Rclone because at this time, the Amazon Drive’s invitation period for new third party apps has ended.

** As an alternative you can try the following third party Cloud Drive applications if you are using Linux system :

Odrive: https://www.odrive.com/links/amazon
GoodSync: https://www.goodsync.com/how-to-sync-amazon-cloud-drive

I can certainly realize that this is not what you expected, but I hope you understand that this was never intentional from our end.

— and they offered me a $5 gift card.

I’ve got almost a Tb up there with rlclone. Big problem for me…

I just installed the latest beta (for Linux) and it is working with the oauth. Thank you, Nick!

So it doesn’t solve the storage issue but couldn’t you rclone encrypted to a local directory and then move it into the amazon folder to sync it up to amazon? that way you can still use the encryption and have it stored in amazon? They suck for what they did to rclone and the “unlimited storage” but their rates are still cheaper than others out there. That’s what I’m thinking of doing but not sure. I use 10TB’s at the moment which I will need to narrow it down to about 3TB’s so I can afford it.
