Where is the text file? I searched debug came up with nothing

the log file should be in the current working dir that you ran rclone from.
which i think, in your case, is the home dir.

or perhaps it was not created for some reason

Earlier today I noticed this Inn my terminal after a few hours and Plex was fine then I notice the lag and nothing playing. Came back to terminal and looked at rclone and saw this error. I went to dropbox redid my dropbox app so maybe it will work better. From what I can see here it looks as though the token is timing out after a few hours even though in dropbox I have the token set to not expire.

For the life of me I cant figure out what changed. If I had just left it connected it would all be fine. Nothing seems to work.

as we discussed, this is a problem, so, for now, do not use --daemon --daemon-wait=5m
not an expert but this looks like a linux folder permission issue, not a rclone issue
/mnt/mpathad/ilovemymac/files: Permission denied. that looks like a simple folder permission error, not an rclone problem.
what is the output of ls -ld /mnt/mpathad/ilovemymac/files

I didnt use the -dameon in the 2nd mount yet still get an error.

before you were using /home/ilovemymac/PLEX/

I was /files/ the server company said to try make a folder called plex to see if that resolved this issue. It didnt and considering my plex library is looking at /files/ and I dont want to rescan and moving to /plex/ did not change anything I just went back.

ok so the server company says they updated rclone. so I did this.

yes, but, you are making this more complicated, way too many parts, repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

changing the rclone mount location
switch back and forth between the official rclone executable and that custom version from the company.
you did it again, the second to last command used v1.57.0 and your mount recent command used v1.57.0-DEV
using and not using --daemon --daemon-wait=5m

please, so let's get it straight. if you refuse to follow those simple steps, i can no longer help you.

use ~/files/, not /mnt/mpathad/ilovemymac/files
use the official rclone client v1.57.0, do not use v1.57.0-DEV from the company.
do not use --daemon --daemon-wait=5m

and then we can move on to whatever else you need help with, ok?

I am never using /mnt/mpathad/ilovemymac/files. I have not once type that in.
I always use ~/files/
I am using the official rclone client but then it would not connect the only one that mounts is the

I have done without the --daemon and we still have nothing.

My mount location was originally /files/ changing the location was a trouble shooting step from the server company. Changing the mount location would not cause this issue. They are just 2 different folders.

The server company said they use the official rclone. They said this "rclone was updated to 1.57.0 yesterday. There is no customization done to the program; it is compiled using the Gentoo package's instructions."
Not siding with them I just guess the whole thing is confusing. Especially since I downloaded the new one and yet it keeps going back.
I dont get why it changes what version. I didnt change anything on what rclone im using I downloaded and did what you asked. I dont know what changes. do I have to do the cd ~/rclone-v1.57.0-linux-amd64 each time?

The odd thing is you saw the error above. Yet in plex its connected and running. So lol I have no clue.

I was just about to try the above when I went to plex and it played a video.

that whatbox seedbox is just terrible to work with.

perhaps you have another rclone instance running, check for that
or
perhaps just ignore that error message, something about whatbox, and in fact the rclone mount is working well.

I am on whatbox co too. I had exact same problem with @Stream_One around exact same time. So the provider must have updated rclone on the server. I think the problem was the --daemon, I was getting "Fatal error: mount not ready" too. So I removed the --daemon --daemon-timeout=5m from the command, and ran it in a screen. It is working fine this way so far, been about 36hours with no problems.

@Stream_One try removing the --daemon --daemon-timeout=5m from the guide, and run it in a screen. I did have to manually disconnect the mount after each failure tho even with no rclone instance, with a fusermount -uz <path/to/mount> this could be your problem.

So basically, check htop and make sure rclone is not running. and use fusermount -uz <path/to/mount> and run the command in screen without the --daemon --daemon-timeout=5m

That's because they use some custom version build and it's not a direct download from rclone.org which is why it isn't recommended to use a compiled version other than what you get from rclone officially as strange things happen..
