Random files showing as unavailable in Plex occassionaly

I do not have the full log from when this happened.

I have not been able to re-create it, but I do remember seeing something about the file being expired.

I have moved to 1.46

Removing is done from web browser.

I will up the age and add the cache time to my config
Is there a way to force restart the cache? I wonder if maybe that is the problem?

Also, the plex integration really slows things down as all scans and such only use 1 worker. I’d keep that off imo. - I have no idea what you are trying to say here

Using plex integration makes rclone than not using plex integration is what I was saying.

You can either pass the command parameter --cache-db-purge and that will refresh the the cache database or if on Linux, you can:

ps -ef | grep rclone
kill -HUP

On Windows, no clue :slight_smile:

Why don’t you just remove from Plex which has the direct access to the file system? Usually it’s better off doing the work from the mount to avoid anything although, you are correct as it should just work either way.

Here is the command that I ran hopefully it was correct.

rclone mount -vvv --allow-non-empty --cache-db-purge gcache: /Users/User/gcache

I have removed the file directly from plex and moved it out of the file system where gcache points to. After running the command and re-adding the file back and running a new scan the same thing happens. So to re-cap here are the steps I followed:

  1. Removed file from plex from within plex using the delete files button
  2. Moved the file out of the file system from within gdrive
  3. Ran the dbpurge command
  4. Re-added file back into gdrive location
  5. Re-scanned the directory and I still get the below error

Did you grab the logs from when you added it ? I’d like to see if when you added it, the polling changes picked it up.

Yes I’m baffled by the new error not finding gcache in the config section. I think I’ll redo my .conf file tonight.

I have a seedbox that I dl on. My seedbox uploads to Google drive with an rclone move command.

I then mount it on my home PC. I never download anything on the home PC.

I do, however, delete some files through the web interface.

You’d need to put it in debug log mode and grab logs of the device that can’t see if after you delete it.

There should be a polling event that picks it up, but that would be in the log.

I did hit play but all plex says is that the file is unavailable. Nothing was playing.

This log is from rclone which is on the same machines as plex.

Did you change chunk size? You have a lot of those error messages. The file is there, but if you changed your chunk size, you need to clear out the chunk storage area.

Your plex integration is not working from the logs either. I’d just turn it off anyway.

So either rclone config again and fix your token/auth/etc or remove it.

Chunks get removed from disk once you chunk storage fills up and it is first in first out concept.

You’ll see a directory usually wherever your rclone.conf is and you want to remove the remote named cache directory and cache.db

My case, my remote is gcache:

Your plex URL is wrong, it should be:

http://127.0.0.1:32400

I think your issue is that file name.

Can you make a non cache remote and run a few tests? Basically, you can copy the same section of the crypt in your file and point it directly to your encrypted folder.

Once you have that try, to run:

rclone lsd newremoteyoumade:

and see if that directory shows up. I wonder if that funky character is perhaps causing an issue.

I have no encrypted folder, setup is gdrive>gcache.

If I run a lsd on gdrive it sees the file there fine.

I have played this file perfectly fine before, I don’t believe the issue is the naming of it. It’s almost like the file is stuck somewhere.

At this point should I wipe everything and start fresh? What do you think the best approach is?

It’s helpful if you can walk through the process as I’m systematically walking through.

If you can create a remote that’s not through cache (I haven’t seen your conf so I didn’t know if it was encrypted or not as most people encrypt).

And please run the rclone ls command against that directory and see what it returns.

Stop the mount as you can only have 1 process running against the cache and run the same command.

Paste the complete output.

Understood, I have a remote that’s not through cache but I’m not sure what mount you are referring to. Right now the only thing I have mounted is my gcache. I have run this command:

rclone ls gdrive:

If I unmount gcache and run the same command I still get the same output.
