as for batch files and task scheduler, kind of off-topic for rclone forum.
both are simple to learn, plenty of info on internet and youtube.

this all started with the OP using another outdated lame reddit post, with outdated concepts like cache.
that reddit needs to be deleted and is the bane of this forum.
at this point, the OP has a working rclone mount and plex,
now, all that is needed, as per the OP, is to start the rclone mount as boot.
so for the stated needs of the OP, lets keep it simple.
- create an old style .bat/.cmd file
- run it via task scheduler, which has a easy gui.

I finally got it all working using the NSSM option, I could not get Task Scheduler to work at all no matter what I did, I'm pretty sure I had it set up correctly but it just wouldn't work. However the NSSM worked fine. I downloaded the Rclone GUI and am using that to upload files etc. Drag and drop doesn't work when the service starts with NSSM and windows explorer crashes but it seems fine with the rclone browser.
There are other things I'd like to learn to do with it but I just wanted to say thanks again to asdffdsa, I do realise he/she was very patient with me and I do appreciate it. It was a very steep learning curve for me as I hadn't really done anything like this before. Thanks again.
