GSuite is evolving to Workspace, so prices and TBs too

So no more xTBs for a normal GSuite account.

Maybe. They haven't sent any of the details out yet.

For those who are admins in GSuite you can go to subscriptions and upgrades. We can see the Entreprise Standard plan will cost 17.30€/user/month for an official unlimited storage. That'd be a safer deal IMHO.

Yep, I saw that as well. I just will wait and see as they are normally good about posting information and transition plans.

On the upside looks like dropbox moved to 1 billion API hits per month which was my challenge before as it was just a low number.

Was going to say the same thing, so it's basically doubling the cost, so while not the best news at least not terrible, (like when amazon got rid of their unlimited offering)

Mine was going up from £7.82 to £9.20 this month anyway. The cost of Enterprise Standard is currently listed at £15.30

At the moment the subscription pages shows G Suite Business as a purchased option (But how long they will keep that who knows)

So yep the Enterprise Standard Plan may be the direction we need to go.

But will probably wait until I get an email announcing the changes

Google isn't a charity so the change was inevitable I think, like Amazon did a while back. If the Enterprise Standard plan turns out to be the way to go, I'm more than happy to pay double of what I pay today.

I've been looking at Mega for my gdrive backup if it comes to that - slightly cheaper than dropbox (10 euro/month per user, 3 users for unlimited storage).

But, knowing google, they'll never probably turn off the unlimted gdrive and we'll all be grandfathered in. I still use my obi box for google voice and google was supposed to deprecate that 5 years ago.

When I go to upgrades I see the following plans:
G Suite Business
G Suite Basic
Google Workspace Enterprise Standard
Google Workspace Enterprise Plus
Google Workspace Business Starter
Google Workspace Business Standard
Google Workspace Business Plus

So which one would have "official" unlimited sorage?
Google Workspace Enterprise Standard?

I was only wondering because for G Suite Business it still says "unlimited storage".

i am thinking that panel is there for those users who have already got G Suite Business.

If you were to sign up for a completely new Google Workspace, then I would not expect to see the G Suite Business panel.

But that is just a guess.

Eh, we may be ok. Grain of salt, etc, etc.

Very true. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Which made me look in to alternatives such as Dropbox business and Mega Business (thanks for the tip, @jad3675)

how are the limits on Mega Business?

Check their web site.

was asking more on the lines of limits related to Plex. Api hits, rates per day.. did not find it but will give it another go

Ah, gotcha. I didn't see any, but it's probably somewhere in the fine print.

What about the .edu accounts?

Check out the reddit thread @jad3675 linked. People have said .edu account will remains as they are. It does seem nobody can say anything for certain at this point.

And now it seems like 'upgrading' to the $20/month (any number of users, even one) enterprise plan will give you unlimited data. I mean, at least according to the internet...
