What is a transaction class?

I see Backblaze B2 for example lists the number of Class A, B, C transactions allowed for free and what it costs to go over that. Can someone please explain what these are and what the difference is? Google is of no help since I apparently don’t know how to phrase this search: I get a lot of results relating to financial matters.

Looks like A = uploads; B = downloads; C = administrative (authorizations, etc).
