**Hi everyone. I've been using a free tier 5gb One Drive storage account, and I am experiencing a weird bug. When I have a file in my main storage, it counts against my storage quota. However, when I delete the file and it gets sent to the recycle bin, the quota immediately decreases. The reason that this is weird is that everywhere I look online, people and documentation say that One Drive recycle bin is supposed to count against your storage, and the space only gets freed when you delete the files.
I've been experiencing this for over a month, so it's not a update delay. The files can still be restored from the recycle bin, and the storage meter will increase again when I do that. Perhaps the weirdest part of it all is that I have two different accounts, and the same bug occurs across both of them. I could only ever find 2 other instances of people experiencing the same bug as me, and one of them was on this forum by a member who is still active, so I'm hoping they see this lol. Has anyone else experienced this before, or do you know what could cause it? It's not necessarily bad, but it is weird.
An example of the bug would be this:
3gb/5gb total storage
3gb of active storage
2gb of data in recycle bin
With the expected rules, you would assume I would be at 5gb total used, but since it doesn't count the recycle bin for some reason, it only says I am at 3gb.**
rclone only reports what OneDrive shows. Free tier accounts behave like this AFAIK. If you consider it a bug then you should contact Microsoft. But why? Given that it is beneficial for free tier users:)
Please note that it is not the case for paid accounts.
I guess I'm mostly just intrigued by it. The official Microsoft support page and some posts that I've found all make it seem like the recycle bin should count. Only you and one other person I have found seem to have this experience with it. It's also really weird to me that it would occur for me on 2 separate accounts if it were a bug.
I was mostly hoping to see if there was anyone else that had the same experience.
Out of curiosity, do you have a Personal account too, and have you noticed that same behavior? Another element of it is that when I delete a file from my main storage, the space is almost immediately freed up from the quota once I refresh, as opposed to there being any delay in updating the info that I was used to for One Drive.
