"Unlimited" alternatives to Google Drive, what are the options?

I think what most "business" users of box don't understand is that this is a business focused product. Some people read "unlimited Storage" for like 40 bucks per month but aren't reading any contracts or resources. Not denying anything goes well with box. I haven't used them but know some people that use it in a corporate environment and besides some minor things everything is working as expected. But we are talking 4 digits+ a month. There is still unlimited storage with Dropbox, Google and Microsoft. It's just not "easily" available for regular end users or very small businesses. You get what you pay for. IDrive is indeed one of the cheaper cloud storage providers.

This whole thread seems to be pointless right now at least ever since the main topic "unlimited alternatives" got derailed to a dedicated box support/bashing thread with no constructive posts whatsoever. Instead very few people ignore Rclone Forum Faq/ToS FAQ - rclone forum and being very hostile including insults.

To summary the box posts in this thread:

  • Box advertises unlimited Storage
  • Their FUP handles excessive/abusive behaviour and limits monthly bandwidth and api usage
  • It wasn't enforced before but that changed due to google/dropbox unlimited exodus - It might not be enforced during trials to show businesses full potential and/or give them the chance to migrate for cheap in that time
  • Box web interface displaying the storage and bandwidth usage (unlimited) isn't working, which to be fair they have also mentioned in their forum
  • Box having some issues even though you are well within your limits (check box forums, they have some script they can run on your account otherwise give them a call or write a proper email whatsoever)
  • If you still have issues and cannot work it out with them just cancel and refund and start using some other provider (but that will obviously comes at a cost if you want to upload like 50TB+)
  • Box Resoures might be not as they are stated (potentially the 1tb per month per user)
  • If you go over FUP limits the first time they will send you an email about your options (either adapt to them or reach out to sales to increase limits)
  • If you continuously abuse FUP limits they want you to cancel the subscription or might even do it themselves (also part of the contract)
  • Box monthly reset might have some side effects to some users (e.g. not working correctly)

If I forgot something to summarize feel free to add it.

However I still would like @Animosity022 and/or @ncw to try to intervene here in some way. Especially regarding forum behaviour.

If this is fine with you in this place I am happy to leave the forum to evade such an hostile environment.
