I am not sure if this is already available in rclone but i haven't seen this in docs too
Same as bwlimiter toggle , Reloading Config on a received signal is good if the transfer (sync/move/copy) is way longer than normal
Just like Nginx reloads config on SIGHUP
Would you expect rclone to stop any existing transfers and remake the backends that are in use in the config and restart the transfers?
i guess he meant to cancel just those configured --transfers and restart them after refreshing config without canceling whole process
