Seafile Transfer stuck on "transferring" but not moving anything

What is the problem you are having with rclone?

I am trying to transfer my files from Seafile to Google Drive as backup.
Both are setup and mounted and I am able to access the files inside via network drives no problem. But when I'm copying the data it shows the first files but they are stuck on "transferring". At this point I'm just testing eveything with just a few files in the drive.

Run the command 'rclone version' and share the full output of the command.

rclone v1.63.0

  • os/version: slackware 14.2+ (64 bit)

Which cloud storage system are you using? (eg Google Drive)

The command you were trying to run (eg rclone copy /tmp remote:tmp)

not sure what you mean about mounted, as you did not post a rclone mount command.

Right, both Seafile and Gdrive are also mounted using rclone mount. Didn't share that here since that's using a seperate script and isn't what I have issues with, just figured it would clarify that the config of the two is not the issue.

sorry, confused now, do you need help with rclone copy or rclone mount?

Just the copy is not working. I have no problems with the mounts.

The problem is that the log is showing transfers but nothing is moving, stuck at 0 transfers completed (see log)

what version of seafile server are you running?

Hmm I'm not sure.
I installed it 2 days ago via docker compose following their instructions here:
https://manual.seafile.com/docker/pro-edition/deploy_seafile_pro_with_docker/
How could I see the version?

based on that short log snippet, looks like an issue with your seafile server, not gdrive.
might test copying from seafile to local and leave gdrive out of the equation.

Oh yeah definitely. I've been moving things to gdrive for months without issues. Got a different copy running to gdrive and it's working just fine.

Changed the copy snippet to:

rclone copy -vv Seafile:   /mnt/user/Handcrafted\ Media\ Server/Test/Seafile --no-traverse  --retries 5 --transfers 5

do some of the same files fail each time?
if so, then pick a single file and test with that.

Hmm maybe the issue is with my seafile setup after all. Tried downloading a file from the webgui and it's not working either. I think maybe I missed something with the permissions. Thanks for you help!
I will report back if that fixes things!

Aha! Turns out the issue was that I hadn't set the right SERVICE_URL: and FILE_SERVER_ROOT: in seafile.
Everything is working now! Thank you for your help!
