Rclone in Samba

No, never used it before. You're making me look stupid on this Forum but I'll take it
Can I just used the commandline as I dis before or is this not going to work?
But, just to be sure, you are making me share this file over a PC that is not always booted like my Pi? This is not what I'm looking for or are you holding back on me at this point?

if you want to use pi and samba to share gdrive: over the network, i cannot help you.

if you want to use windows to share gdrive: over the network, i can help you.

you have to decide...

Ah! Oké, that's not what I'm looking for but it could be a solution further up te road, right?
If it is not to much trouble I'll still take your advise for the Windows Share. Still need some assistance on Task Schedular though.
I can't do it at this point but with the right tasks to perform I will do it tomorrow. Thanks asdffdsa!

Hi,

It seems you could help me out.
i'm in windows. I've mounted a rclone union in drive X, but i cannot share it to other computers...

welcome to the forum,

sure, i can help.

to share the x: over the network, you must run the rclone mount as system user.
there are a few ways to do that but the easiest is to run it using task scheduler.
then you can share x: like you would share any drive on windows.

if you have problems, you might need to update rclone and winfsp

  1. make sure you are running the lastest rclone, v1.51.0. use the 64bit amd for windows.
    https://rclone.org/downloads/

  2. make sure you are running the latest winfsp v1.6
    https://github.com/billziss-gh/winfsp/releases/tag/v1.6
if you need to upgrade. uninstall winfsp, reboot, install winfsp and reboot.

thanks for fast explanation !

I will only be able to reboot my server in 2hours, will give feedback (and probably ask for some more help...)

sure,

you might not need to reboot.

try it and see if it works...

when you run the batch file as system user, you will not be able to see the command prompt, it will hidden; so you might want to add a log file

--log-file=log.txt

It worked, really gratefull for your help @asdffdsa !!

That's the thing about this forum, everyone seems so helpfull

yeah, rclone is great software.

that you can mount cloud storage and share that mount over the network.

have you considered donating?

i assure you that, as a user, i do not profit at all from any donations.
