Rclone fatal error mount not ready

need to look at the rclone debug log and see what is going on.

the best I can seem to get is that log I showed above. I never seem to have a debug log elsewhere.
Its not generating one I guess even with the commands above

well, at the time the rclone mount fails, what does rclone display on the command line?

best to use a rclone debug log.
--log-level=DEBUG --log-file=rclone.log

which whatbox plan do you have, how much do you pay per month?

I have the $29 USD monthly plan. 4TB storage 10Tb of traffic.

I dont get anything just the blank command line. H
Before it quits it lags so much it takes minutes to load a show ext and then I have to fuser mount and then do it again for it to load up.

 ./rclone mount --buffer-size=64M --dir-cache-time=64h --vfs-cache-mode=full --vfs-cache-max-age=6h Dropbox3: ~/files/ -vvv

I see I think the issue is the token expires from dropbox about every few hours. I have everything set exactly as the rclone dropbox page says to do.

ilovemymac@ariel ~/rclone-v1.57.0-linux-amd64 $ ./rclone mount --buffer-size=64M --dir-cache-time=64h --vfs-cache-mode=full --vfs-cache-max-age=6h Dropbox3: ~/files/ -vvv

2022/01/06 21:31:52 ERROR : /: Dir.Stat error: expired_access_token/...

when i first got that cheap seedbox, i did some testing with torrent with a lot of seeds.
if i remember correctly, the hard limit was 12.2MiB/s to download a torrent to the seedbox.

most of what i watch, i watch one and then delete it.
if i want to keep something, i download it to my home server.
so 600GB seedbox is enough for me.

as i need a home server anyway, i prefer to spend money on hard drives, not on a seedbox.
for example, whatbox is $348/year for 4TB.
whereas for my home server, a good quality 4TB hard drive is $90.
i used raid5, so 3X4TB is $270 and get an usable 8TB of storage.

I have way to much that I could ever store locally. Tons of classic movies/shows plus I share with few friends and my internet company gripes at me if I download or upload to much.
I have not had any issues. Then now this big issue and the dropbox expired token which is so weird.

tokens expire all the time and rclone will get a new token, on the fly.
for example,
about the tolen, they expire and rclone will get a new token on its own.
should see something like

DEBUG : onedrivevb: Loaded invalid token from config file - ignoring
DEBUG : Saving config "token" in section "onedrivevb" of the config file
DEBUG : Keeping previous permissions for config file: -rw-rw-rw-
DEBUG : onedrivevb: Saved new token in config file

Then why is mine not going after the new one?

it looks like when I do the rclone authorize its generating a sl token which is a short lived token. And it expires in 3 hours.

here, i just started a rclone mount for dropbox, have not used it in a while.
so when rclone starts, the token had already expired.
as expected, rclone requests a new token from dropbox

2022/01/06 16:56:20 DEBUG : dropboxyoyo: Loaded invalid token from config file - ignoring
2022/01/06 16:56:21 DEBUG : Saving config "token" in section "dropboxyoyo" of the config file
2022/01/06 16:56:21 DEBUG : Keeping previous permissions for config file: -rw-rw-rw-
2022/01/06 16:56:21 DEBUG : dropboxyoyo: Saved new token in config file

What is different? It generates a short lived token then it just throws errors out when it expires as you saw.

geez, that wackbox, and its custom compiled software, has never ending problems.
no idea what is going on and given that they claimed to be using a new version of rclone, just insane!

so,at this point,

  1. on dropbox, delete the rclone app, recreate it.
  2. on the wackbox, with rclone, delete and recreate the rclone remote
  3. start the mount and wait to see what happens with the token

try the same another machine, wait and see what happens to the token.

I have done all of that. I created a brand new app in dropbox 3 different ones now.
In that rclone mount I have done the same 2 different new mounts and each time its a SL token generated.
IM not using their rclone though im using the linux one you had me download.

no, what i mean is to run/test rclone mount with dropbox on another machine, not on that wackbox.

It says can not open the directory.

no idea what that means???

you said run it on a another machine so I ran it locally

post the output of rclone version

and that is yet again another new error mesage

well this is not on the server so its going to be different you said run it locally

  • os/arch: darwin/amd64

  • go version: go1.15.8
