Because if the only objective is to speed up the reading of a few files, it is useless to me.

for streaming media, i do not use a vfs cache. i use --vfs-cache-mode=off

something special to be done in rclone.config compared to the base config

cannot see into your computer, cannot see your config file.
so post it and redact id/secret/password/token.

@VBB, your setup looks similar to the OP, what do you suggest?
