I was wondering if I could cache data in RAM while using rclone copy or rclone move to copy/move data from the remote to a local HDD.
Does the flag --buffer-size work in this case?
I get constant Ds in htop, signaling issues with IO:
That introduces a memory buffer between the read thread and the write thread which should speed things up.
I'd say that is probably rclone maxing out your IO
