`/proc/self/mountinfo` permission denied with snap package

What is the problem you are having with rclone?

I'm getting a "permission denied" error with rclone when trying to mount a drive.

xiii@slothius:~$ !rc
rclone mount berkeley_gd: ~/berkeley_gd
2023/11/25 18:54:10 Fatal error: failed to mount FUSE fs: cannot get mounts: open /proc/self/mountinfo: permission denied

I am running Ubuntu 22.04 and have fuse3 installed. I installed rclone using the snap package.

I did a bit of research, and similar error messages seem to have been caused by not having fuse3 installed. I'm pretty sure fuse is correctly installed on my system, though, and it works with sshfs at least.

Run the command 'rclone version' and share the full output of the command.

xiii@slothius:~$ rclone --version
rclone v1.64.2
- os/version: ubuntu 22.04 (64 bit)
- os/kernel: 6.2.0-37-generic (x86_64)
- os/type: linux
- os/arch: amd64
- go/version: go1.21.3
- go/linking: static
- go/tags: snap

Which cloud storage system are you using? (eg Google Drive)

I'm trying to mount a Google Drive.

The command you were trying to run (eg rclone copy /tmp remote:tmp)

rclone mount gd: ~/gd

Please run 'rclone config redacted' and share the full output. If you get command not found, please make sure to update rclone.

xiii@slothius:~$ rclone config redacted
[berkeley_gd]
type = drive
client_id = XXX
client_secret = XXX
scope = drive.readonly
token = XXX
team_drive =

A log from the command that you were trying to run with the -vv flag

That's documented on the install page:

Mount can't be used.

Ah! Okay, thanks for answering. I'll go install the apt version.
