RClone works fine for most of the time and most of the function, but could you speed up the 'mount' function? (even though you were not recommending this command...)
On my windows 10 device, I could only use "mount" as same as a 'tree' command -- with windows OS style ...
cause when I try to open any file, It always keeps me waiting for 10~20 seconds, sometimes it will cost more time...
sometime I will get this...
I see, so what about the "explorer.exe"? the attached log file only contains one action after listing the directory file -- right-click the file without opening it, and it seems its also open/close repeatedly? so what is happening? rclone.log
I don't use Windows so I'm not sure what happens when you right click on a file.
In general, if you have a cloud mount, open / closing a file is expensive. From the logs, rclone seems to be doing the right thing as it reads properly and there are no errors in the file.
I'm not sure what you are trying to use it for so not sure how to help you. I'm sure other folks use it on Windows but fuse on Windows isn't generally a great thing from my understanding.
If you have something else that better meets your use case, use it would be my suggestion.
I just use it for mapping the onedrive as local disk...
Yep, I am using Raidrive now, but I am going to choose to use the open source softwares rather than others if they aren't such slow...
I wonder know it too, cause it seems have middle servers for transferring the data, Rclone
done such things locally without middle cost, but it faster than Rclone at least 2x times...
Yep, the most important reason why I want to switch to Rclone is secruity.
Raidrive will cache the data locally, but the initial access won't be such slow, after caching some data, it will links the online files to caching files, so I can open them without waiting for the networking delay.
But...the cache function of Rclone does not work as Raidrive does (with all default settings, cache for 1h), every time you open the files, every time you have to wait...
There are a couple of issues with Windows mount functionality that still requires some investigations. It should be considered as experimental thus far as fixes come in for this OS.
Cache is just a experimental function on Windows OS...
I configured the file by following the docs:
chunk_size = 5M
info_age = 48h
chunk_total_size = 10G
but, even worse(after waiting for 5 mins, I have to kill rclone)...
(I have to reply now cause the protection of newbie users.)
