Monitoring rsync progress - hoping to integrate into Xfce or Plasma desktop

Wondering if others have suggestions or solutions for ways to monitor rsync progress from a desktop computer. I use Xfce and KDE Plasma on the desktop... any ideas or suggestions appreciated!

I'd love to see active progress of rclone (or even just rsync) from my desktop menu, in a similar fashion to running a desktop Google Drive or Dropbox utility which tells you when data is syncing and an estimation of time to completion. Cheers (I'm new to rclone).

Rclone has a remote control API which you can enable with --rc

There are quite a few thing which plug into this like the web GUI for example which will show progress.

Were you thinking of building something or did you just want to use something?
