Mega Linking and Mounting on a non-rooted Android

What is the problem you are having with rclone?

I am using Mega Cloud Storage on a non-rooted Android Mobile. I don't know how to connect the remote to my mega cloud account as I am not getting a auto configuration as google drive rclone config as follows:

Use auto config?
 * Say Y if not sure
 * Say N if you are working on a remote or headless machine

y) Yes (default)
n) No
y/n> y
2022/04/30 06:07:11 NOTICE: If your browser doesn't open automatically go to the following link:

but when I create a Mega Remote I don't get such an option. What I get is just a remote not connected to Mega Cloud Storage with an encrypting password.

That is my first problem......

My second problem is mounting the mega cloud storage locally on my Mobile.

I did a testing to mount google drive in both termux and proot-distro with Debian. I will share both the results.

Run the command 'rclone version' and share the full output of the command.

termux
$ rclone version
rclone 1.58.1-termux
- os/version: unknown
- os/kernel: 4.9.193-perf-g743cb02 (armv7l)
- os/type: android
- os/arch: arm
- go/version: go1.18.1
- go/linking: dynamic
- go/tags: noselfupdate
proot-distro Debian
e@localhost:~$ rclone version
rclone v1.53.3-DEV
- os/arch: linux/arm
- go version: go1.15.9

Which cloud storage system are you using?

Mega

The command you were trying to run

Mega Remote Creation
rclone config
Mega Mount Test
rclone mount drive:test test

The rclone config contents with secrets removed.

Remote Setup (rclone.org)

To mount a fuse based file system, you need fuse which I don't think you can do on a non rooted phone.

Mega doesn't use oauth, so you don't need the browser, just the username and password.

See if it worked with rclone lsf mega: (or whatever you called the mega remote).

hi
in the past, based on research i did, need to root the android device.

proot-distro, that runs another distro in userspace,
so that will not allow for rclone mount

there have been many discussions in the forum and on the internet.
never found a solution that did not require root
