Max upload speed to Gdrive is 30 kb/s... What's wrong?

Hello everyone I'm sorry for making another upload speed complaining ticket but I've read all and I don't find my answer.

I use v1.53.1 on Windows 10 64bit, trying to upload files to my google drive with rclone copy source:path dest:path

My config is

[gdrive]
type = drive

scope = drive
token = {"access_token":"ya29.a0AfH6SMAKtmmQvSP1N4SM02EBHmFizoapmnNVYQ6X2RgN6SYwqn_JysZGdA8-XQmGtiux_phgx1V8inz7LePhdDcf8_ggcCC-zATAt6SK1Px8MtU0HU7maq7K3mOE4nMtyhmehiL93NgoLb_tr9KEPS8sc9ANIKeOryI","token_type":"Bearer","refresh_token":"1//03BVQRq-o9wvQCgYIARAAGAMSNwF-L9IrYZV4N-yf6-FRyW989nd2_jOD9XLyTwkJUTF2SzZeDXx8pL1tKvB78tNTYN9w5YtlEuI","expiry":"2020-09-30T20:39:03.8341161+02:00"}

As you can see the upload speed is unbearable.

I use my own API key, I've tried with multiple computers, multiple ISPs, the problem persists.
What could it be ? I'm running out of places to search.

thank you very much

hello and welcome to the forum

when you posted, you were asked for information, can you post it all.

hello sorry for forgetting to greet you all. I've edited my post and posted my config

for each rclone on each computer, at each location and isp,
do you
use same exact config file to each device?
or
create a new config for each device?

are you coping the exact same set of files each time or different set of files?

each computer is w10.64?

I've created a new config file for each of my 2 computers which are both w10.64.
I've tried different sets of files, ranging from 1GB to 75 GB, the results are quite the same

very strange,

have you read and tried to implemented the solution?

as a test, might try to

  • create a new gdrive account
  • be sure to create client id
  • new rclone config file.

So I did all of the above.

Well there's something : my upload speed went up from ~30kbps to ~95kbps, this is enormous compared to what I had but still ridiculously low.

But there's something !

and the results of a speedtest.net?

do you use rclone with any other backends?
if true, have you tested any of them?

• When transfer is inactive, i get :

ping 40 ms
download 48.51 Mbps
upload 9.49 Mbps

• When transfer is active, i get :

ping 632 ms
download 18.27 Mbps
upload 0.00 Mbps

There's definitely something wrong

you wrote that this happens with different computers at different locations using different isp, correct?

did you implement the solution from the link i shared.
it have solved problems like this several times in this forum?

are you using wifi, vpn or proxy server?

at this point, upload a 1GB file and upload that entire DEBUG log

I haven't used other rclone backends, but this problem has been sticking for months and I have tried several other rsync clients like Max Syncup and AcroSync and the results are terrible too. I thought my solution would be with rclone but apparently no

right, two computers, three locations and one with fiber speed. The fiber speed ones is a lil bit faster but still far from acceptable.
Yes I implemented the solution, it tripled my upload speed but could not reach 100 kbps.
Am using wifi, even worse with vpn.
Looks like only drive is affected cause when uploading big files to youtube or wetransfer the process is quick

so this is not a rclone issue, as other products are also slow to gdrive.

that Max Syncup and AcroSync on different computers in different locations using different internet providers,

100% always, a problem?

try with wired, wifi for sure disabled, no vpn

Speed varies depending on the client I use and the internet provider I'm connected to.
Best results I got were on Max Syncup, around 3-400 kbps with fiber speed and 150-200 with my home connection (not fiber).
At home, wired over wifi isn't a game changer, maybe a few kbps and more stability but well I wonder why I can upload several mbps on wetransfer and torrent but gdrive is so slow.
people always tell me google servers are not the issue but I'm really starting to doubt that

it is not gdrive

i would sign up for a free trial at wasabi.com, known for hot storage, and test with that.
i easily saturate my 1Gpbs fiber connection without needing to tweak flags.
