I updated to the latest 5.5.8 kernel on Arch Linux and am experiencing about a threefold decrease in transfer speeds on my mount with both the latest stable and beta versions of rclone. Is anyone else on the 5.5.8 kernel experiencing slower rclone mount speeds?
What kernel were you comparing against?
I am comparing it with kernel 5.4.2.
tested without problems, single file from mount transfer speed ~400mbit/s
- os/arch: linux/amd64
- go version: go1.13.7
It seems that the cause of the slowdown was unrelated to my kernel. I just checked speeds using rclone to directly transfer a file and found that they were about the same as using the mount. The transfer speeds are far slower than usual, but I think that is likely a result of network congestion/ISP issues.
