Issues with UTF-8 encoding

STOP and READ USE THIS TEMPLATE NO EXCEPTIONS - By not using this, you waste your time, our time and really hate puppies. Please remove these two lines and that will confirm you have read them.

What is the problem you are having with rclone?

Basically, rclone creates the names of the symlinks with strange symbols because it does not accept accents (or so I assume), special characters like !&! start to appear in the name of the files when it is not the correct one. All my PC configuration supports UTF-8 because I have made sure of it, I have already tried several commands in rclone and everything remains the same

This is how rclone mounts them

Así es el nombre real de los archivos

Run the command 'rclone version' and share the full output of the command.

rclone v1.69.1
- os/version: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 23H2 23H2 (64 bit)
- os/kernel: 10.0.22631.2715 (x86_64)
- os/type: windows
- os/arch: amd64
- go/version: go1.24.0
- go/linking: static
- go/tags: cmount

Which cloud storage system are you using? (eg Google Drive)

WebDav via Alldebrid

The command you were trying to run (eg rclone copy /tmp remote:tmp)

.\rclone mount Films: U: --vfs-cache-max-size 10G --cache-dir="C:\RcloneCache1" --config="C:\Users\Pablo\AppData\Roaming\rclone\rclone.conf" --vfs-cache-mode full --volname Films--log-level DEBUG --log-file="C:\Users\Pablo\Desktop\rclone-v1.69.0-windows-amd64\rclone-log.txt" --links

Please run 'rclone config redacted' and share the full output. If you get command not found, please make sure to update rclone.

let's focus on just one file.
if you download the file to local, does it look correct?

Yes, if I download it from Alldebrid it has the correct name

then i think rclone is working as expected.
rclone is encoding the filenames to be compatible with the webdav server

But how is that possible if when I download it from the alldebrid page it has the correct name and when I load the mount in rclone all the names are wrong?

pick a single file, post the name as seen from:

  • u: drive
  • alldebrid page

U drive: Ámsterdam
Alldebrid: Ámsterdam

The forum corrects it automatically

U drive: Ámsterdam

No one know why this happens?
