Has anyone found a clever way to sync with Google Photos since you can't use rclone to download at full quality?

Right now my photos are mixed in two places:

  1. Photos I take with my camera/DSLR are saved to my computer
  2. Photos I take with my mobile phones are automatically uploaded/backed-up to Google Photos (I pay for Google Drive storage)

I want to accomplish two things:

  1. Get my camera/DSLR photos to Google Photos
  2. Get my mobile phone photos from Google Photos to my computer

In essence, they should be two-way-synced.

I can use rclone to upload to Google Photos, which meets #1, but you can't use it to download original photos.

So I'm at a loss for what to do. I thought I'd see if anyone had some clever ideas/solutions/suggestions?

I install rclone on my phone and sync the original photos with a script running under termux.
