Google Drive banned

Using a NAS however you have different problems: in case of fire, burglars, flooding, and so on you simply loose everthing.

Moreover if you have the typical DSL low upstream bandwidth, you can’t access media files from away.

NAS does not protect you from ransomware, virus, data loss from rm -rf / or HDD damage (RAID5 in not enough, many discovered).

NAS is an alternative, not a solution.

I agree, that’s why I planned to store a crypted copy of my NAS on ACD

I could try a google account and hope they don’t enforce the 1TB limit but if they 'll do, I’ll be doomed . maybe just buy a second NAS or some HDDs for now

Google most likely won’t enforce it, with amazon cloud being 60/yr for unlimited you are still paying double the amount to go with google at $10.00 per month x 12 = $120/yr. They are in direct competition with Amazon so until amazon increase the price or decreases the space i doubt it will ever happen
