I work with Scality Ring installations and we support the s3 protocol in our product. We use rclone and recommend it to customers but the Scality Ring is not in the supported list of s3 providers.
Rclone syncs your files to cloud storage: Google Drive, S3, Swift, Dropbox, Google Cloud Storage, Azure, Box and many more.

IMO it only makes sense to add it if it has some caveats users should be aware of.
If you think that it is needed just create PR. Have a look at some previous ones which files have to be edited, e.g.:
