Errors when uploading MS Office files to Sgharepoint

What is the problem you are having with rclone?

I am using the --update in my script and seeing errors on MS Office files do to "size differs".
For testing, I have changed to "copyto" and selected one file to test with. I get the same errors.

I added the "--ignore-checksum --ignore-size" options and get the same errors.

Run the command 'rclone version' and share the full output of the command.

Which cloud storage system are you using? (eg Google Drive)

No, it is only with MS Office files.

I did. It' a huge document and I only see one section that applies my issue. And like I said, I have already added those parameters.

Did you see something else that applies?

I'm not replacing or deleting. I am using --upload or --copyto
I am not seeing "File Not Found" I am seeing 'sizes differ".

The solution you are identifying is for a different issue and error.

Looks like you are misunderstanding the log, take this example:

first line: rclone compares the local and remote (OneDrive) .xls files and determines the files (quickxor hashes) differ.

second line: rclone therefore starts an upload of the local file to OneDrive

third line: the upload fails with the error message: "nameAlreadyExists: A file with the same name is currently being uploaded. Change the filename and try to save again." received from OneDrive.

So you are encountering an error during while trying to replace the .xls file already in OneDrive with the differing local file. Agree, it isn't "item not found", but still an error while trying replace an existing Office file in SharePoint.

I therefore suggest you try following @Animosity022's advice to check if it also helps in your situation.

You may also want to check that the .xls file isn't open/accessed somewhere else, e.g. in Excel (incl. Excel online).

Resolved. Some files had be uploaded with rclone as user: root
