Discourse offers a dark mode feature. May I suggest enabling that here? Users get a control over the dark mode as well, so, light mode users wouldn't be forced to use dark version.
It's already enabled.

It is possible to add a theme switcher to the hamburger (three line) menu in Discourse or even directly into the top bar. See details on meta.discourse.org or see this post on the Nextcloud forum for a couple options [1].
