Check for new Rclone version in script?

I have a script that I would run to periodically check for a new version based on previously documented commands. For the past few days, the beta check URL stopped work.

For current release, I'm using
curl https://downloads.rclone.org/version.txt

For beta release, I'm using
curl https://beta.rclone.org/version.txt

The beta version check has been failing. Has that changed? The release checker still works
