So what appears to have happened is that the file that is uploaded has the same modification time as the local file.

I think this is the same problem as Files already synced are being (supposedly) synced again which we haven’t got to the bottom of but we suspect something to do with dropbbox and versions.

So what will be uploaded is an old file version with the new modification time. Is that possible?

If you download the FICHAS 2016.xls file can you check to see if it is corrupted and if it is an older version?

@TowerBR any thoughts to add?

I download the file and its ok.
The file has all data ok

Can you use rclone to find the hash of the downloaded file?

That isn’t either of the hashes you reported earlier! Did you open that file with excel? Can you try downloading it again and hashing it before you open it?

So that is the same hash that was reported as the hash on dropbox which means dropbox’s data integrity is good :slight_smile:

What I think must have happened is that somehow the new file got the old modification time. This is very similar to what @TowerBR reported.

If you sync with --checksum then it should fix these problems. I don’t know why it happened which is annoying. I suspect something to do with versions at dropbox, but I’m not sure.

Yes, it’s probably the same thing. And although it occurs with few files, it prevents the automatic verification of backups with check command, since it produces several “false positives”. I opened a ticket on the Dropbox support, and after a couple of days exchanging messages, the answers were not conclusive. In short, they do not know either.

The solution? I’m migrating from dropbox to Wasabi …
