That's probably not rclone then as you'd want to be wired as 4K remuxes can peak that out most likely.

If Kodi works and Plex doesn't, you are back to a Plex setting or something not acting the same as rclone doesn't care what the player is.

Your cache max size is a bit confusing as you really want something bigger if you are playing larger files. Are your files bigger than 50GB?

Yes, 4k remuxes are 70 gb some og them, kodi works with the addon so does not need cache.

If you have a cache configured smaller than your biggest files, it has to delete it and recreate the file and that's some overhead.

If you want to use the cache, you really should configure the proper size to fit your needs.

From a rclone side, there isn't anything else to add as your settings are fine and most likely, you have a local issue /wifi, it's not actually direct playing and it's transcoding.

I tried before with 500GB cache ant its the same, the video is direct playing. One year ago I had it working on my local computer with google drive mounted the exact same way and it worked great.

One year ago, vfs-cache-mode full didn't exist so you had something different.

Not to keep repeating, but it's not a rclone issue based on your information.

Are you running Plex on a remote server, by any chance? Latency makes all the difference. Up until recently, I accessed my files on GDrive directly via Windows Explorer on my local PC. No playback issues whatsoever with wired Internet at 500/500. Then I moved to a SHIELD, and now I use Plex to access the media, which can result in buffering. The difference is that I run PMS on a remote server far away from my location, and now I have to deal with the latency between my ISP and the host. Before, I only had to deal with the latency between the ISP and Google, which was almost never an issue.

Yes, I have it on a dedicated server on Germany and i am on Uruguay

But the google servers are not here and I canwatch the same movies with kodi

While Plex and Kodi both play things, it really doesn't matter what Kodi can do in relation to Plex as they are very different platforms and how they operate. I've spent lots of item with Plex and your description/setup/etc all point to network latency/setup issues and there isn't a thing rclone can do for that.

That's what I thought. So, the difference between your Plex and Kodi setup is that you use the GDrive plugin for Kodi, which then bypasses the server in Germany entirely. Google has several data centers in different geographic locations, which almost always results in relatively low latency.
