B2 Remote Large File >5GB Server-Side Copy Hangs

What is the problem you are having with rclone?

Attempting to run rclone sync from one B2 bucket to another, sync hangs on a file larger than 5GB (requiring multipart upload per B2 docs)

Run the command 'rclone version' and share the full output of the command.

rclone v1.57.0

  • os/version: darwin 12.2 (64 bit)
  • os/kernel: 21.3.0 (x86_64)
  • os/type: darwin
  • os/arch: amd64
  • go/version: go1.17.2
  • go/linking: dynamic
  • go/tags: cmount

Which cloud storage system are you using? (eg Google Drive)

B2

The command you were trying to run (eg rclone copy /tmp remote:tmp)

rclone --fast-list --copy-links --progress --transfers 32 sync b2:bucket1 b2:bucket2 --checkers 32 -vv

A log from the command with the -vv flag

I let this go and keep retrying for about 20 minutes for no success. Is this an issue with serverside copy handling?

hello and welcome to the forum,

can you copy a single file and post the full debug log
rclone --sync b2:bucket1/file b2:bucket2 --progress -vv

Strangely, with a single large file (6GB), it did seem to work this morning. I was sure it was stalled yesterday though - maybe I had too many transfers going?

Completed in 2 chunks

have you have run that same command many times and yesterday was the first time getting those errors?
if true, then perahps was a one time glitch with network access

This should work...

Remember that it is actually copying > 5 GB of data about the place so it can take some time and the time will vary according to how loaded the backblaze host is.
