Anyone Using rclone With Cloud Storage for Large Media Backups?

I’ve been experimenting with different backup methods recently because I’m dealing with a lot of large video files, photos, and project data across multiple devices. Local storage fills up quickly, so I started looking into cloud-based backup workflows together with tools like rclone.

So far, rclone seems really flexible for syncing and managing files between local storage and different cloud providers. I’m still testing which setup works best in terms of speed, reliability, and long-term storage management.

At the moment I’m comparing a few cloud storage platforms, including TeraBox-related storage solutions, mainly for handling larger uploads and mobile backups more efficiently.

For those already using rclone regularly:

  • Which cloud providers work best with it?
  • Do you automate backups or mostly sync manually?
  • Any recommended setup for managing large media collections?

Depends on what is your definition of the best is. The cheapest? The fastest?

If you say "backup" then try to automate everything as much as possible.
