What is the problem you are having with rclone?

I'm using rclone serve webdav as the target on Joplin sync. The synchronise sometimes results in

Error with date & time
Updated remote items: 1.
Completed: 29/09/2026 13:40 (37s)
Last error: Error: PUT 193448bddb3c47718803aa31da07bcdf.md: Unknown error 2 (405): Method Not Allowed

The attached log covers the period around the completion date given above. It does not show a 405 response being sent to the client.

Run the command 'rclone version' and share the full output of the command.

joplin doing PUT thru serve webdav onto protondrive throws 405 for me too sometimes. that backend gets weird on overwrite/move.

id keep joplin off serve webdav for proton:
-rclone mount Proton: /mnt/proton --vfs-cache-mode full
-point joplin at a folder under that mount
-or sync a local joplin dir up with rclone sync on a timer

if you wanna debug the serve path:
-rclone serve webdav Proton:joplin --vfs-cache-mode full -vv --dump headers
-watch if its PUT or MOVE that returns 405
