15-20% CPU usage when encrypting/decrypting

Hi everyone.

I noticed that when I'm uploading or downloading encrypted files with rclone to/from Google Drive, the CPU usage is 15-20% while downloading/uploading at 70MB/s speeds.

Is this normal? Shouldn't CPU usage be non-existent? I have a Ryzen 5 3600 which has AES-NI. For example when I use VeraCrypt to move around files, CPU usage is basically 0.

So why I am having 15/20% usage? Is that just for the uploading/downloading?

What is the problem you are having with rclone?

What is your rclone version (output from rclone version)

Which OS you are using and how many bits (eg Windows 7, 64 bit)

Which cloud storage system are you using? (eg Google Drive)

The command you were trying to run (eg rclone copy /tmp remote:tmp)

The rclone config contents with secrets removed.
