I'm a retired (as of 2000) corporate IT professional (mainly finance and banking). These days I spend much of my time following IT (technology, OS, etc.) and occasionally building PC systems for family members and myself. I'm dedicated macOS user. Over the past 12 months or so I've researched DIY NAS and assembled one to serve me and family. I currently use TrueNAS Core 12. I have a OneDrive account and I'm working to get it installed on TrueNAS using their Cloud Sync service. OneDrive is not a simple system to get working with the NAS, though I had it working well before I rebuilt my system. rclone is a key element of the setup.
