Vfs-cache-mode off

Quick question; i have no need for writing as i only mount for plex. could --vfs-cache-mode off be for me? Is starting a video or seeking any faster or slower with --vfs-cache-mode off?

Neither as vfs-cache-mode writes is for writing files.

If you are just reading, having it on or off would be irrelevant for just reading the files.

If you never open files in write or read/write (edit) mdoes then any VFS write cache you have enabled will never be used anyway, so it would functionally be the same.

You are fine to use cache mode off for only reading.

beware that writing to the mount is 10x slower than using unionfs/mergerfs, also it still creates some bugs if your software uploads partial files, ou temporary files, or etc
