Using Rclone to migrate Active Directory Files shares into Google Shared Drives

I came across this tool today and watched a few videos and I see it is quite functional.
The purpose of this post is to ask this.
Would it be possible to use this tool to migrate Active Directory files share into Google Shared Drives?

If anyone has done this, what is the best way? I am very new to this tool and any assistance to start my journey would really be appreciated.

hello and welcome to the forum,

the AD files are local, not cloud?

the first thing to do is create a rclone remote for gdrive and then test it
https://rclone.org/drive/

Hello to you and Thank you for the reply.
The AD file shares are on our Domain File Server. My shop is eventually getting away from Microsoft AD and going strictly to Google Workspaces.

ok.
the first thing to do is create a rclone remote for gdrive and then test it

Testing this, to my google drive works great.
Now I try setting it up for a Shared Drive I own and applied is path to the root_folder_id
Run the mounting command and I get this
2021/02/24 14:48:21 ERROR : IO error: couldn't list directory: googleapi: Error 404: File not found: ., notFound

Any Ideas?

good,

when you first posted, there was a template of questions.
now is the time to provide that info.

I have it figured out now and testing is going great.
Thank you for the pointers and the nudge to this rolling.
