Uploaded using rclone to Google Drive, now need to change permissions

Hi all,

We recently uploaded quite a few terabytes of data to our Google Drive using rclone - it worked perfectly. While I know that rclone can easily do things like list remote directories, it appears rclone is unable to change sharing permissions for files/direcories in Google Drive. Does anyone know if this is possible with rclone, and if not, does anyone have a suggestion for another command line tool that can be scripted to change permissions for directories on Google Drive? I ask because we have thousands of folders in our Archive in which we need to change the permissions for one specific subfolder.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If I’m not mistaken, no way to change permissions at this point:

You can use the mask and such but I don’t think there is a solution to your one folder scenario as the mount parameters are global changes.

That is correct.

I believe that gdrive can do that, but I haven’t tried it myself.

Hi all,

Thanks for the suggestions. I did find gdrive as well, hoping it will do the job. Wasn’t sure if anyone else had had any experiences with this before or if I was missing something from the rclone documentation that would allow this.

Thanks again.
