I still have 100TB on Google Drive costing me 5 x £27.10 = £135.50/month but just discovered that I can archive four users & then only pay £5.04 per user per month for these archived users. My monthly cost is now 4 x £5.04 = £20.16 + £27.10 for a new monthly total of £47.26. Crucially I can still access all my files on the shared storage but my monthly cost is now under £50 for 100TB.
Can anybody see the flaw in this arrangement? Are Google going to start nagging me about having archived users with 100TB of shared storage?
I think many has this “construction”, there were times you could have asked a limit raise by just adding temporary users (and click a link or chat with support), get the additional storage and remove them, paying for only short period of time for the added users. Then moved back for less. The only hint is to stay within the gotten TBs, as if you get to 100% they will switch it to read only, when other mechanism will kick in, and you will need most probably as many users, as it would be necessary to cover the over usage.
I just saw this Feature Request for support of 123cloud
and if my translator is correct they are offering a whopping 6PB (in words six Petabyte) in some VIP-plan.
Are people here in this thread using this offering maybe?
Is this legit? Looks too good to be true.
But since our western cloud-companies also offered "unlimited" once i am not fully convinced that this is some scam. And 123cloud seems to have a "monthly growing limit".
But i cannot find any pricing information unfortunately for this "big plan", but their other offerings seem to be pretty well priced.
If it is legit it would be even a thought looking for a reseller for this.
I originally had one user with unlimited storage with G Suite Business & ended up with 100TB of data. When Google started cracking down & forcing migration to Google Workspace I added four users & initially my quota was 5 x 5TB. 90 days later I was able to request an increase in storage to 10TB per user then 90 days after that 15TB & 90 days later got 20TB per user for 100TB in total. I added a single user for six users but they only got the initial 5TB & not the 20TB that the other users had so I dropped that one. Google refuses to increase storage above 20TB per user instead offering crazy pricing like 10TB extra for $300/month.
I now have one active user & four archived users with 5 x 20TB =100 TB 100TB. I don’t know if this is within the rules or not but I now have 100TB storage for under £50/month. I am concerned that Google will pull the plug or restrict my access to my data but so far it al seems OK.
