"Unlimited" alternatives to Google Drive, what are the options?

Yes you have the account you use to buy the family plan and can share with 5 more accounts.

max filesize is 15 GB.... You need crypt, union and chunker and a lot of accounts. This is not a usefull solution for me.

Where did you get that figure? It's 250GB, so chunker is not needed.

what is in this package?
Is this for one year?

Ah, OK
I’ve checked it

Buy storage with crypto currencies https://storage-reseller.com/ . I bought a hetzner box and i got it 1 day later. (i used it with crypt, to save the files) :orange_heart:

Managing that many accounts seems a bit unfeasible tbh.

I’m getting tired of hopping from service to service. Knowing this was coming for 5 years though. Starting with Google Workspace, then moving to DB Advance was a chore but I’ve been grateful to learn from folks like @Animosity022 who guide enthusiasts without hand holding.

If you would have told me that I would have built a server, scripts, understood data transfers, Docker and containers five years ago, I would have balked. Right now, I am at 34 out of 38 TB with Dropbox. I will probably sunset things depending on what happens since Wasabi and others aren’t fiscally feasible for me.

RClone is an amazing tool that we all should be grateful for. I’m sure we all will find ā€œthe next serviceā€ but it seems like data hoarding for cheap is gone, unfortunately. I’ll continue to monitor the community here but it looks like I’m back to local storage for ā€œthe important stuffā€.

Nothing is impossible, here was someone with 100 service accounts:

Hmm. Not for the large bulk but maybe for the intermediate stuff. I cant see this working fine into the PB but for maybe 100TB, why not. Have you done it and if so, how is it going and at what combined storage size are you at?

is this ready now?

this is called False advertising - Wikipedia and every companies doing this kind of behavior to trick customers should burn in hell.

Hello, wanted to add my 2 cents since i'm on the same boat as everybody else.

We choose box.com and after 3 months of usage it turned out to be scam (or false advertising like user above mentioned).
Before we purchased it, we were informed by sales team that they have no limits on upload and download so we went with it. Fast forward 3 months later our accounts were disabled for "abusing the service" (we did nothing but upload at this time as we were not finished migrating) and all our files were deleted. In our initial question we mentioned we have in total 300tb to move and yet they said it will be okay. It apparently wasn't. Of course we contacted support and they said you can only upload 1TB per user (so 3tb in total) per month and since we uploaded ~200tb they terminated our accounts.

At least we'll be getting all our money back through chargeback but we still look for affordable online storage service.

TL:DR PSA: box.com is a scam and you should avoid it.

100%. I've experienced the same.

Same here. The problem is it seems like our data is being held hostage, as it cannot be downloaded or uploaded at all. Even though I've been trying to contact them to ask for an increase in the bandwidth limit to migrate my data to a local hard disk, they haven't replied, and I really don't know how to download my data back. Initially, I trusted them and uploaded everything without backing it up locally. But now it seems like I'm at risk of losing my data. If anyone knows how to contact Box support, please let me know.

What speed did Jottacloud throttle you down to?

As someone who has been using a family MS365 subscription for my cloud storage solution, but as individual 1TB storage spaces that I manage individually, instead of as a union, I have seen, and have traded messages with others that Microsoft will modify your jpeg files. They seemed to mess with the exif data including thumbnails. My storage is now all encrypted including the filenames. If you use rclone's encryption, be sure to use: filename_encoding = base32768 to keep the filenames and paths short.

from their site

Got access to a google drive shared drive of a person who had unlimited account to move some of my data (encrypted). But his acount seems to have been removed now.

If anyone else has a google acount with unlimited storage and would like to help me out with a shared drive, please pm.

I think I was with the same person as you since my shared drive is now gone as well. Wish he would've at least mentioned something before just pulling the plug like that. I had over 1/3 of my data transferred before the shared drive just vanished.

So at this point, is iDrive the only feasible option?

@iNQUAM I have Google shared drives (plus free backup account). I will PM you.
@Vig2000 Idrive is not the only feasible option. Can I PM you?
