FYI. Everything works for me again.
Maybe all these issues it was only intermittent glitch on mega side.

Its working again for me too, but not everything is being synced. A substantial number of files are either not transferred or are deleted on mega !!
hmm ...
I have a directory called security which mega is ignoring completely.
a cursory inspection seems to show that other directories/files are synced normally.

rclone copy a single file from security directory and post the full debug log
Uploads appear to be working for me without issue now.
Well I checked this morning and without me doing anything the files have appeared in security dir dated yesterday.
Running my complete rclone script now returns expected outcome.
So I guess it was a glitch with mega that has now been resolved.
Many thanks for all the help and comments. Rclone is well served by its community of volunteers.
In my book rclone is the most useful utility I have ever used.
