Regarding the parallelism of transfers - it seems to me that RCLONE might be doing something wrong in the way it creates the connections to the target SFTP. The reason for speculating that is the fact that FileZilla is successfully transferring multiple files in parallel (10 transfers simultaneously), and doing it pretty quickly.

Interesting, are you able to confirm your observation/theory with a small example using a known and publicly available SFTP server (preferably free)?

@ivandeex RCLONE is an amazing tool that I love and naturally, the focus is different.

@Ole I do believe, as you suggested, that it has some relation with the SFTP server. I am using RCLONE with other SFTP servers in greater success (for some reason it's still slower than FileZilla but good enough for my purposes).
