Rclone stalls after first batch of uploads finishes uploading

Hello, I am transferring relatively large files from a local FTP server to Google Drive. We’re talking about an average size of 6GB. I am using a Google Compute Engine f1-micro instance with 0.6GB of RAM and about 8GB of disk space to transfer between the FTP server and Google Drive. What happens is that after the first files that are transferred whether they be 4 files or 1 file will finish transferring, but rclone will still think that they are transferring. This results in no other files besides the first 4 (or 1) being transferred. Here is the command I used and also the debug log:

Hmm, not immediately sure what is going on…

What happens if you copy the file from the FTP server to local disk using rclone - does that work properly?

When I try a set of 1gb files, all of the files download successfully to local disk space. When I try 7.5gb files, only the first file completes downloading to the local disk. It’s also a 50gb drive. I don’t have enough files transferring when I try to 7.5gb transfer to go past the 50gb. The 7.5gb is copied using this command:

rclone copy --drive-chunk-size 256M --buffer-size 256M --log-file rclone_test.log -vv --tra
nsfers 1 filezilla:test ./test
5

Hmm, so it sounds like rclone is working - it managed to transfer the 1 GB file and a 7.5 GB file.

Do you think you are running into bandwidth caps somewhere? Maybe on the GCE instance? Or maybe the source server?

I’m struggling to think how rclone could be causing this, so my guess is that it is external to rclone.
