Rclone/Proton Drive install

Hi I total newbie I would like to ask you all in here, I did install a rclone mount to proton drive but my question is, now I need to know how to sync specific folders ? how does it work and how do I do that, I hope someone would be so kind a explain it too me ? Because I do have a Proton unlimited and also Filen I do not know which one is best for this specific tasks ? So if you guys could explain me it would a great help I use Endeavour OS KDE Hyprland.

welcome to the forum,

hard to share good advice, you did not answer any of the questions??

use simple rclone sync, instead of complex rclone mount

the mount makes proton appear as local storage, so use whatever sync tool you want
can use rsync or whatever sync tool you want

For many reasons (you can search forum for examples) rclone does not work very well with Proton. My advise would be for now not to waste time on trying to make it work - you most likely will be disappointed.

Filen looks potentially better option with their support for webdav and S3 which shows openness to 3rd party integration and tools - not sure though about pricing but it is your problem:) Should not be difficult to beat Proton with their 500GB for 10 euro per month on "unlimited" account:) If you have account already give it a try.

Hi I really do not use the proton drive for exactly the reason. I just migrated from macOS to Linux. So bare over with me if I ask dumb ass question, but I am learning its fun.

I am trying out with Filen but still having issues

Currently Filen WebDAV/S3 is not very mature and quite unreliable.
