hello and welcome to the forum,

this has been discussee in the forum many times.

so here is the new process

  1. make sure ot use latest stable v1.58.1
  2. on the vps
Use auto config?
 * Say Y if not sure
 * Say N if you are working on a remote or headless machine

y) Yes (default)
n) No
y/n> n
Option config_token.
For this to work, you will need rclone available on a machine that has
a web browser available.
For more help and alternate methods see: https://rclone.org/remote_setup/
Execute the following on the machine with the web browser (same rclone
version recommended):
        rclone authorize "drive"
Then paste the result.
Enter a value.
config_token>
  1. on a desktop with a gui, run rclone authorize "drive",
  2. on vps, copy/paste code from step 2.
  3. be happy
