so ive been using rclone for quite some time using the “crypt” module as every cloud provider ive used i never trust.
i recently downloaded the latest version and wanted to setup a new config and noticed there are now base32, base64 and base32768. my main provider is Pcloud and trialed using base32768, and tried looking through different articles and pages but was wonder if there was an easy way to confirm that this is the correct encoding, evening though during some tests the files appear to be ok, it would be nice to know 100% rather than find out at the point of trying to recover data there is an issue.
the other thing i noticed was that if i had a backup of the “rclone.conf” file i was able to copy it to another computer and view/decode all the content. this left me wondering how this can be further secured as its effectively bypassing the passwords used when setting up the remotes
