Onedrive filter file names

When I mount a Onedrive-folder and open/edit a .docx file, a new file appears which has the first letter replaced by “～$”.

Example: File.docx become: ～ile.docx.

Please help me resolve this.

sorry, not understanding the problem.
it is a temp file created by ms-word, same as you would see on local drive.
so, can just ignore it.

It is indeed not clear at all what the issue is but I can try to guess that these temp files are uploaded to OneDrive and you would like to avoid it.

If this is the case than you are out of luck. It is an old issue without resolution yet:

It is waiting for somebody to work on this - any help is welcomed.

I am not sure if possible but maybe MS Office allows to configure directory where such files are stored? And sidecar is only default way which can be tweaked?
