I don’t get what you mean by ruTorrent and plex point to the same folder. If ruTorrent is downloading, plex would see the file before it is completed.
Normally, folks don’t have the download location and the final location as the same thing.
You basically have the same work flow as me and added steps so it’s more complex with no value. I’m a strong believer of less steps/parts unless they add value.
Torrents and cloud storage are a bad use case as torrents use all different parts of the file so you’d have to run something like the cache backend or use vfs-cache-mode full to keep copies of the file to seed them which defeats the purpose of using cloud storage.
You don’t get bans per se, but it’s incredibly inefficient, requires local storage and generates a lot of API traffic if you didn’t keep it local.

I only use the stock vfs backend as well.
