Yeap, I found this post in which your replies totally blow my mind again. I didn't even know MD5 is long broken. I've been using checksum/hash interchangably and apparently that's incorrect. It is correct that hashing from the same content will produce the same hash, but crypt/bcrypt doesn't produce the same encrypted text every time, even with the same password/salt pair and I think I should leave it at that...
